The new edition of the CIOMR first aid manual is now available at
CIOMR is of the opinion that all military personnel should be skilled in first aid measures. To that end, amongst others, a First Aid Competition during the yearly CIOMR/CIOR Congress is organized, in which the CIOR Competitors participate. Military First Aid is First Aid against the tactical background: being shot yourself whilst delivering care is “counterproductive” (to put it mildly). Moreover, every soldier has to be aware of the dictates of the Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC): “shoot first, ask questions later” is simply not on; in particular not when civilians are present.
